UNITED WAY

WORLD HUNGER APPEAL

Our participation in this project of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has spanned three decades.  The appeal supports projects around the world, including projects in the USA.  The emphasis is on rebuilding communities and helping people gain some control over their lives.  Schools, clinics and hospitals are built.  Agriculture, cooperatives, and community organizations are encouraged.  Reforestation and other environmental projects are funded.  Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran World Federation are the primary vehicles for funding international projects.  Congregations and agencies of the ELCA are the structures used for domestic development work.
